Glass artist
and jeweller Connie Paul will make a
special, working appearance at Silver Bridge
Gallery Saturday, July 18.
Paul has been
handcrafting lampwork glass beads for over a
decade, incorporating them as basic elements
in her line of exclusive jewellery. The
lively shapes and graphic applications of
her beads make them instantly recognizable,
with colours ranging from sophisticated
amber and champagne to tropical blues, leafy
greens and classic black rendered in the
satiny lustre of Venetian glass. |

Paul is one of the few jewellery-makers in
Canada who is also a glass artist. “Beads by
Connie Paul jewellery has its own flavour,”
says the artist. “My most recognizable shape
is the luscious heart that I feature in
earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Owners of
my pieces claim that they are reluctant to
take them off, because they just feel so
good to wear.”
For her
special appearance at the gallery, Connie
Paul will be setting up a lampworking table
where clients can watch the artist create
jewellery that is a compelling synthesis of
design and material.
